Now that we have finally conceded that autumn has arrived, I’ve brought out all of my berry tones to wear. I’ll admit, this skirt was quite a bold choice for me to wear and has been sitting in my wardrobe for over a year. The other day I finally decided to go outside of my comfort zone and I am so glad that I did. It may have taken me a while, but I can at last enjoy this beautiful skirt out in public as it really is a stunning design.
The skirt has an intricate lace overlay that runs the entire length of the skirt with an underskirt in the same colour finishing mid-calf, allowing you to really show off the lace detail against your skin. Because of this design, I wore the skirt without tights, which is fine before the weather gets bitterly cold!
Another feature of the skirt, which is still bang on trend, is the pleated detail of the lace overskirt. The pleated trend has been popular for a while, and its no wonder why when it looks so flattering! The skirt does not flare out at all, which I find the most flattering in longer skirts and instead falls in a straight line from top to bottom.
I’ve paired this skirt with a cream upper layer, either my cropped fuzzy cardigan or a tucked in high neck jumper, so that the entire skirt remains on show. With this I have my trusty classic black boots that go with everything!
Originally from Zara, this skirt is sadly no longer in stores but here are some alternatives so you can get the look too!
