I have been really trying to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to fashion, as there are so many wonderful things out there that I would not normally choose to wear. After weeks of deliberation over these £19.99 trousers, I decided to take the plunge and go for this new style from H&M! And when I did brave the new style out of public I got so many compliments on the trousers, which was a great confidence boost!
When it comes to trousers, my comfort zone is definitely skinny jeans or tailored trousers that taper in at the ankle. So learning how to style wide leg trousers has definitely been a learning curve! What I have come to love about wide leg trousers is that they look and feel very glamorous.
We have all seen the wide leg trouser go from strength to strength in recent fashion, so what makes these so special? For me, the level of detail that has gone onto the fluffy spots embroidered all over makes this an exquisite stand out item. I’ll admit, having fluffy spots all over your clothing is a bold choice, but I really love the intricacy of these trousers and because of the versatile black colour they can be worn day or night.
The trousers surprisingly fit me perfectly and just about graze my ankles. However, for anyone taller, these trousers would also work as a cropped culotte style! The wide waist band also makes the trousers extremely comfortable to wear.
How to style
When wearing wide leg trousers, I prefer to pair them with a tighter fitting top to create a nice silhouette. Similarly, cropped cardigans maintain a shapely silhouette and allow you to show off your trousers to their full potential! Alternatively, a tucked in jumper will work just as well! These trousers would look fabulous with a pair of heels, but for everyday wear I pair them with a sleek black boot or a pair of ballerina flats.
Reduced to £19.99 from H&M I felt the trousers were worth buying as I have never seen anything like it on the high street.
